No More Brother War

The Rev. Tadeusz Rydzyk doesn’t like what he sees happening in his beloved country.

“The tragedy of Poland is that Poland hasn’t been ruled by Poles since 1939,” Rydzyk said, according to Polish media reports on the speech. He added that, “this isn’t an issue of blood or affiliation,” but that those who rule Poland today “do not love in a Polish way, do not have a Polish heart.”

He also said Poland today is a totalitarian and “uncivilized country.”

To Americans, that seems like little more than a curmudgeonly minister’s gripe about how things have gone downhill. But to European Jews, them’s fightin’ words!

Though he did not mention Jews by name, his language echoed that of anti-Semites who claim that Jews hold excessive power in Poland and that Polish Jews are not “real Poles” with Polish interests at heart.

The way the Jews see it, Rev. Rydzyk committed an unpardonable sin by pointing out that Jews in Poland have power disproportionate to their minority representation.

Never mind that he didn’t even mention Jews; they can sniff out an anti-Semite from a mile away.

Elan Steinberg, vice president of the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants, called the views vile. “Rydzyk’s comments were the same chilling words of hate we heard from the virulent anti-Semites in pre-war Poland where more than three million of our people were murdered during the Holocaust. They are a vile offense not only to the memory of the victims of the wartime slaughter of Polish Jewry but were also an insult to all citizens of modern Poland,” said Steinberg.

Naturally, the Jews are outraged at such blatant “anti-Semitism.” They’re mad as Gehenna, and they’re not gonna take it!

The World Jewish Congress called on the Vatican Tuesday to expel Rydzyk from his order of priests. The Simon Wiesenthal Center said he should be excommunicated.

They will probably succeed in getting some kind of severe sanction against Rev. Rydzyk – which will prove that he was absolutely correct about them having power disproportionate to their minority representation.

People will forgive you when you’re wrong; they will never forgive you when you’re right.

* (Pardon me while I run the numbers again…We’ve been told that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust; the Auschwitz plaque used to say that 4 million were killed there, but now the plaque says 1.5 million were killed there – a reduction of 2.5 million; which would make the total number 3.5 million; of which the aforementioned Elan Steinberg says 3 million were Polish Jews; which means that the remaining 500,000 were from other places in Europe; but we’re still told that 6 million were killed…something ain’t adding up again…)
